Delano Public Schools Preschool

Half Day (AM) Preschool:  This is our structure learning time. During this time, children will participate in developmentally appropriate curriculum, play, and activities.

Extended Day Preschool (only available to children the year before kindergarten): This is an extension option of the half day preschool program, including lunch, recess, enrichment activities related to our current learning themes, and time for free choice play and exploration.

Registration Fees (Non-Refundable)
- $50/child for preschool
- $50/child or $75/family annual registration (if attending wrap-around care)
- $50 Activity Fee

AM Preschool (8:30-11:30 a.m.) for ages 3/4 and 4/5 
$35 per day

Registration Options:

• 2 days/week - Tues/Thurs (Only available for 3/4s)
• 3 days/week - Mon/Wed/Fri
• 4 days/week - Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs
• 5 days/week - Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri

Only for ages 4/5 students that will be attending Kindergarten in 2027-28.

• $30/day - After AM Preschool (11:30 a.m-5:45 p.m)
• If you registered for both Before Preschool (6:45-8:30 am) and After AM Preschool (11:30 am-5:45 p.m), you will receive a discounted rate of $30/day (only applies if you are registered for both on the SAME days).

 Extended day preschool

• $12/day - Before Preschool (6:45-8:30 a.m)
• $22/day - After Extended Day Preschool (2:30-5:45 p.m)
• If you registered for both Before Preschool (6:45-8:30 a.m.) and After Extended Day Preschool (2:30-5:45 p.m.), you will receive a discounted rate of $22/day (only applies if you are registered for both on the SAME days).

Non School Day: (Optional for all registered preschool children)

• Full wrap around care day for days without preschool ($56 per day).
• These are optional days requiring extra registration in your online child care account.
• This includes breakfast, am/pm snack, & hot lunch.

Please submit your wrap-around care vacation/sick day requests here:

• Vacation days are allotted for consistant schedule contracts using the following guidelines: School Year - 5 day/week registration = 5 vacation days, 4 day/week registration = 4 vacation days, etc. Summer - schedule of 4/5 days a week = 2 vacation days.
• Pick your Day schedules do not qualify for credits. 
• Vacation day Credits are for Wrap Around Care ONLY. You will not be credited for Preschool tuition.
• Once the allotted days have been used, payment is required for any additional absences.
• It is your responsibility to fill out this form and request credit. Only this form will credit your account.
• This form must be submitted within 7 days after the absence.
• Vacation days cannot be taken on Paid Holidays or used for missed Break Days.

Parents are required to report all absences.  

Preschool: During the school year, messages need to be delivered to DPS by 8:30 a.m.  Families need to call in the absence, even if attending an after school class/camp.

You may call the attendance line, 763-972-6210, press 2 (Please indicate their name, classroom or teacher, date of absence, and the reason for their absence).
 

If Delano Public Schools are closed:

• All Delano Public Schools Preschool classes will be canceled for the day. 
• Tiger Kids Club is closed for the day. 
• Families do not pay when DPSP - TKC closes due to inclement weather.

If it's an e-learning day: 

• All Delano Public Schools Preschool classes will be canceled for the day. 
• Tiger Kids Club is closed for the day.

If school is delayed (typically a 2 hour late start):

• All preschool classes will be delayed and begin two-hours from the normal start time.
• Tiger Kids Club will be delayed and open two-hours from the normal start time.
• Only normally scheduled students can attend during a late start.

If school dismisses early:

• Delano Public Schools Preschool and Tiger Kids Club will remain open 90 minutes after the close of school to allow parents time to pick up their children.
• Parents are expected to pick up their child within this time frame and as soon as possible; if parents are unable to get to DPSP - TKC, a backup person must be in place.
• Late Pick-up Fees will be charged after the 90-minute block of time.
• If students are picked up directly from school, parents must call the TKC attendance line {763-972-6210, press 2} ahead of time.
• If students are picked up directly from the bus at TKC, parents must make contact with staff to inform us you have your child.
• A finder’s fee will be charged if we have to locate your child after bus arrival, no exceptions.
• If your child does not attend p.m. care, families will not be billed.
