Early Childhood and Youth Programs
Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)
Establish the joy of learning with your child during the critical birth to 5 years by participating in ECFE. Join us for parent-child classes, special events, parent education opportunities, and more as you build the foundation for your child’s future.
Delano Public Schools Preschool
Delano Public Schools Preschool offers classes for children from 3 years old through the start of kindergarten. Our learning themes are planned around The Creative Curriculum. Assessments are embedded using Teaching Strategies Gold. Both of these align to Minnesota and Delano standards, preparing your child for Kindergarten.
Early Childhood Screening (ECS)
Early Childhood Screening is required by state law and must be completed before a child enters Kindergarten.
School Census
Don’t miss the bus! Everyone counts on the school census. If you are new to the district or have a new baby in your family, we want to know!
Tiger Kids Club Out-of-School Time programs for grades K-6
Are you looking for high quality, reasonably priced childcare? We invite you to visit Tiger Kids Club to learn about our outstanding program! We serve children grade Kindergarten through grade 6.
Youth Enrichment and Recreation
Does your child enjoy visual arts, music, drama, languages, science and technology, chess, or cooking? Are they old enough for Driver Education? Do they want to try out a new sport? Do they want to join a Destination Imagination team? Do they want to explore fun new places with friends on field trips?
Tiger Activity Center-Recreation and Aquatics Program for All Ages
Tiger Activity Center (TAC)
Located at Delano High School (700 Elm Av), the Tiger Activity Center is Delano’s premier family recreation facility for all ages. Amenities include an indoor track, weight and circuit training rooms, pool, and multi-use courts. You may access the Activity Center through either an annual membership or by purchasing a daily pass. Several insurance fitness reimbursement programs are accepted.
Birthday and Private Party Rentals
Are you looking for a fun, reasonably priced location for your child’s birthday party or a private event?
Aquatics
Whether you are looking for swimming lessons for your child, adult swim lessons/coaching for yourself, water exercise classes, or just the chance to swim laps, you will find what you want!
Recreation
Youth – Sports camps and classes such as basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, strength and conditioning, martial arts, golf, and more are offered throughout the year. Our popular gymnastics program includes both classes and a Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association (MAGA) competitive traveling team for more advanced students.
Open school facilities for community use
District 879 facilities, both indoor and outdoor, belong to school district residents. The district encourages the responsible use of district facilities by individuals and groups. Delano Community Education has been designated by the school board to manage the use of school facilities under board approved policy. Community Education also schedules use of both district and City of Delano fields.
